Q & A*
*Below are a few general questions I anticipate some of you may have.
Please email me with any and all questions or concerns at any time. (Seriously...I kind of cannot wait for them!)
TRAVEL QUESTIONS
5.5 hours from Atlanta / 4.5 hours from Macon
Traveling by car from Atlanta to St. George Island takes approximately 5.5 hours. After leaving I-185 in Columbus, you will be traveling down a four lane highway through small south Georgia towns before spending the final 90 minutes of your trip cruising down small back roads, including a stretch through the Appalachicola National Forest before making “the right turn” to access the Bryant Patton St. George Island Bridge onto the island.

1.5 hours from Tallahassee, Florida Airport
The Tallahassee airport is approximately a 80-90 minute drive from our front door. For anyone flying, I will coordinate an airport transfer with a trusted driver service. (*Cost of the transfer is approximately $110 cash and is not included in your reservation)
The address of East of Eden will be sent to attendees after booking.
WHAT IS THE CANCELLATION POLICY?
Due to very limited spacing and my desire to protect the special energy of our group, I cannot offer refunds after booking. However, transferring your space to another interested participant will be offered, which I can help facilitate or you can do on your own. Please notify me of any transfer need at least two (2) weeks prior to April 24, 2025.
CAN I COME ALONE?
Absolutely! If you are looking for a solo occupancy, select one of the two rooms available that can be reserved for one person. If you will be traveling alone but wish to share a room, choose one of the cozy nooks in the bunk bed room or a king or queen bed in Main Nest. While you may arrive alone, you will not feel like a solo traveler for long. The people who will attend this retreat will become their own community, generating connections and memories to last beyond the weekend.
DO I NEED ANY EXPERIENCE TO JOIN?
Not at all! This retreat will incorporate various pieces of yoga, including a physical practice on mats, breath work, meditations, mindfulness exercises. Even if these activities are ones you have never tried before or have what you may think is limited experience, you will be exactly where you need to be and will be able to enjoy every piece of this time together.
ARE THERE ANY PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS FOR PARTICIPATION?
Sort of. Our home does not currently have an elevator, and there are three levels inside. You do need to be able to walk up and down stairs and make trips to and from the beach on our boardwalk. We will do everything possible to accommodate any restrictions or limitations, so please let me know in advance of any concerns.
WILL THERE BE FREE TIME?
Yes! I really encourage everyone to participate in each of the scheduled activities for us to get the most out of this incredible experience. There will be time built into our itinerary that allows for free time, along with suggestions of things to do.
WHAT IS NOT COVERED BY THE BOOKING COST?
Travel costs, meals or excursions on your own - all but one meal during the retreat duration will be included in the room booking price, and any optional add-on services by our amazing Appalachicola local sound healer, Donia!
WHAT SHOULD I PACK?
A detailed packing list will be provided closer to the retreat date, but in general, you should not need to purchase anything special to be comfortable during the retreat. Think comfortable and casual!
